What's that?\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn addition to the regular 3-way pickup selector, each pickup has its own 3-way selector that allows you to switch the Humbucker between:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHumbucker\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSingle Coil\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSingle Coil Eldred Mod\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Eldred Mod is a low value capacitor that we installed to each pickup. This enables a different\/extra tone from the same pickup in Single Coil mode (coil-tapped), giving you two alternative single coil sounds to work with on each pickup.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt its core the Hooker Raider is a Dual Humbucker guitar (and fantastic just like this, btw), and then depending how you want to move to a Single Coil you've got the two options:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e-The Eldred Mod position can be a better balance against the HB, because it's mellower and more tonally aligned to the HB, there's less 'NOW WE'RE IN SINGLE COIL!!' about it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e-But then again, sometimes you want that full on ‘cut through anything’ sound of a Single Coil… if you want that, it’s there for you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd this is before you get into how they all work in combination with each other too! Hooky was so pleased with the prototype that it’s now on the road with him (customised as “Lola”) and we then took this model into production to create the first commercially available version of his 4 string, full scale length, semi acoustic bass.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe scale, feel, and electronics of Hooky’s original were based on his 1980 solidbody Yamaha BB1200S. In his own words, his vintage Yamaha is “a fierce guitar” and it’s the one that’s been featured on every record Peter Hook has played a 4 string bass on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor his early 80s original, Peter wanted to pair those Yamaha specs with a semi-acoustic, hollow-body bass that would feedback more on stage and that became the semi-acoustic bass he’s always used live since 1982.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhether you play this in a studio or live, you will NOT be disappointed with this bass.
